H.E. Shaikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al-Qasimi is the Chairman of Emirates International Law Firm. As a UAE legal consultant and advocate, Sheikh Fahim provides consultations on local and Gulf projects and issues of a special economic, political and legal nature.
From 1996 to 2005, Sheikh Fahim was a member of the UAE Federal Government as Minister of Economy and Commerce, and went on to head the Ministry of Supreme Council and GCC Affairs. Prior to serving in the UAE federal cabinet, Sheikh Fahim was nominated by the former President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may peace be upon him) to become the first Emirati to be appointed as the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (1993–1996).
Sheikh Fahim’s distinguished career also includes public service as the UAE Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva (1976 to 1980) and New York (1980–1984).
He holds a Law Degree from Cairo University, and an MA in International Politics from Johns Hopkins University.
Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al-Qasimi is the Chairman of the Arab Golf Federation and the UAE Golf Association. He is a member of the International Bar Association, as well as the Boards of Trustees of the Emirates Foundation and the Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan International Thalassemia Award.
