Abdel Rahman Sabri is currently Director of Telecommunications and IT at the Arab League; formerly he was First Secretary of the General Department of Economic Affairs of the Arab League in Cairo. He received a PhD in Economic Philosophy in 1985, an MA in 1981, and a BA in 1969 from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University in Egypt.
From 1984 to 1989, Dr. Sabri served as Economic Expert in the Office of the Advisor for Economic Planning Affairs of His Majesty Sultan of Oman in the Sultanate of Oman and Director of the Department of Investment and Feasibility Studies at Delta International Bank in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He was also Economic Researcher at the Center for Political and Strategic Studies (ACPSS) in Egypt from 1973 to 1975.
Dr. Sabri wrote a book entitled, Military Spending in Israel, and co-authored a book on unemployment in the Arab World, which was published by the Institute for Arab Studies and Research in Cairo. He has had many researches published in Arab magazines, including that of the Center for Middle East Studies, Al-Siyassa Al-Dawliya (International Politics), Al-Ahram Al-Iqtisadi (Economic Al-Ahram), and Beirut's Al-Fikr Al-Istratigi Al-Arabi (Arab Strategic Thought), and Al-Mustaqbal Al-Arabi" (the Arab Future). Dr. Sabri has participated in many conferences and symposia and every Arab-European dialogue committee meeting held throughout Arab and European capitals.
