Abdel Wahab Mohammed El-Messiri

Dr. El-Messiri received his Master's degree from Columbia University in 1964 and his PhD from Rutgers University in 1969 in English and Comparative Literature. Currently, Dr. El-Messiri was a Professor Emeritus at Ain Shams University, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences (GSISS), USA, and a Visiting Professor at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Kuala Lumpur and the Nasser Military Academy, Cairo.

Dr. El-Messiri has published a number of books, the most notable of which are: "The Encyclopedia of Jews, Judaism and Zionism", "The End of History: An Introduction to the Study of the Structure of Zionist Thought", "Zionist Ideology: A Case Study in the Sociology of Knowledge", "The Palestinian Intifada and Zionist Crisis: A Study in Perception and Dignity", "Zionism, Nazism and the End of History: A New Cultural Perspective", "The Problematic of Bias", and "The Earthly Paradise: Studies and Impressions of Modern American Culture". Dr. El-Messiri has also had a number of publications in English, inter alia: The Land of Promise: A Critique of Political Zionism and Israel and South Africa: The Progression of a Relationship.

Dr. El-Messiri has written many studies and articles in Arab and foreign newspapers, magazines, and annuals. He has also written introductions related to Zionism and the Palestinian uprising (intifada) in a number of specialized encyclopedias, books, and references. Some of his works have been translated into a number of languages. Dr. El-Messiri died in July 2nd 2008.
