H.E. Ambassador Abdullah Saif Al-Nuaimi joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in 2016, where he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Seoul, Republic of Korea. His Excellency officially presented his credentials on December 27, 2016.
Prior to this position, H.E. Al-Nuaimi worked at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) as a senior analyst specializing in the US market, from 1992 to 1997. He was later seconded to the Water and Electricity sector’s Privatization Committee in Abu Dhabi as Director of the Privatization Directorate, becoming the first Emirati to hold this position. In 2011, he was appointed managing director of Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA). He has been nominated to chair the board of several public and private companies including Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company (TRANSCO), Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), and Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Company (ADWEC). He has also served as vice chairman of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) and of First Energy Bank (B.S.C).
H.E. Al-Nuaimi serves as a member on the board of Sohar Aluminum Company LLC., the Federal Electricity and Water Authority, and Oman Insurance Company. He also served as member of the Follow-up Committee of the Initiatives of the UAE President, until 2014. Moreover, he is president of the Emirati–Canadian Businessmen Council.
His Excellency has received several honors including the MENA Award for Energy, where he was chosen Power Personality for 2014. He was also shortlisted for the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award – Administrative Sector for 2008–2009.
H.E. Al-Nuaimi received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the United Arab Emirates University, in 1992. He also completed several graduate courses in the United States and in France.
