Mohammed Al-Hammadi is the editor-in-chief of Al Ittihad newspaper and executive director of editing and publishing at the Abu Dhabi Media Company. Mr. Al-Hammadi founded and is currently the editor-in-chief of National Geographic Al Arabiya magazine.
Mr. Al-Hammadi has been a columnist since 1997. He is very active on social media and is known for his interest in new media.
Mr. Al-Hammadi has received numerous awards including the Federal Personality Award from the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), the Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Award for Humanitarian Work, the Ministry of Interior’s Medal for Community Service, the Sheikh Rashed bin Said Al Maktoum Award for Academic Excellence, the Distinguished Journalist Award from Dubai Journalism Club, and the award for best newspaper article from Taryam Omran Journalism Awards.
He is a founding member of the Young Arab Leaders organization (Dubai) as well as a member of the International Federation of Journalists (Brussels), the Federation of Arab Journalists (Cairo), and the Journalists Association (Dubai). He is also a member of the Board of the Arab Journalism Award (Dubai) and the Board of Gulf Journalism Federation (Bahrain).
He has authored three books, Time of Ordeal (2008), UAE Democracy (2009), and The Fall of the Muslim Brotherhood (2016).
