On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Al-Suwaidi presented a copy of his book, The Mirage, alongside ECSSR commemorative gifts to his honourable guest H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore.
For his part, H.E. Umej Singh Bhatia commended The Mirage and lauded H.E. Dr. Al-Suwaidi for his endeavors in the field of scientific research and for shaping global and local public opinion. He also stressed that The Mirage warns against trivial conspiracies and misleading religious slogans by exposing the truth about the groups who spread hatred amongst the people under the guise of religion.
The Mirage, a book written by H.E. Dr. Al-Suwaidi which has garnered international recognition, examines the ways in which Islamist groups exploit religion to achieve political ambitions and gain access to power. Notably, The Mirage introduces the concept of a “political mirage”—an illusion sold by Islamist groups in order to promote their agendas amongst Arabs and Muslims.
